User Data Deletion

At Sharangsho, we respect your privacy and are committed to giving you full control over your personal data. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you can do so by following the instructions below.

1. What Data We Store

When you create an account on Sharangsho (including via Facebook Login), we may store the following information:

• Profile information: Your name, email address, and profile picture.
• Authentication data: Your Facebook User ID (if you signed in with Facebook) or Google account ID.
• Reading preferences: Your selected language, bookmarked articles, liked articles, and topic interests.
• Usage data: Interaction logs such as reading history and notification preferences.

2. How to Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data using any of the following methods:

Option A: Delete from your Account Settings

If you are logged in, go to Settings and select "Delete My Account". This will immediately begin the deletion process.

Option B: Email Us Directly

Send an email to contact@sharansho.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include:

• The email address associated with your Sharangsho account.
• If you used Facebook Login, your Facebook profile name or the email linked to your Facebook account.

Option C: Remove from Facebook Settings

You can also remove Sharangsho's access from your Facebook account directly:

1. Go to your Facebook App Settings.
2. Find "Sharangsho" in the list of apps.
3. Click "Remove" and confirm.
4. This will revoke our access to your Facebook data. To also delete your Sharangsho account data, please contact us via email as described in Option B.

3. What Happens After Deletion

Once your deletion request is processed:

• Your account profile (name, email, profile picture) will be permanently deleted.
• Your bookmarks, likes, reading history, and notification preferences will be removed.
• Any authentication tokens linked to your Facebook or Google account will be revoked.
• Comments or interactions on news articles may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve editorial integrity.

4. Processing Time

Data deletion requests are processed within 30 calendar days of receipt. You will receive an email confirmation once your data has been deleted. If you signed up using Facebook Login, please allow up to 48 hours for the revocation to fully propagate.

5. Data We May Retain

In certain cases, we may retain limited data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including:

• Records necessary for fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance.
• Anonymized, aggregated analytics data that cannot identify you.
